Special Events
While we have a major public outing in October, with a festival for around 12,000 children and families over 7 days all over Galway city, Baboró also holds some Special Events during the year. So far, in 2009 we have hosted a Fundraising Fashion Show in April and teamed up with the Wassa Wassa Percussion Troupe to hold two family-friendly, interactive Drum Circles during the Galway stopover of the Volvo Ocean Race in June.

2 Fundraising Bag Packs for Baboró. Every festival has a shortfall between Box Office, Sponsorship and Funding and the cost of the programme. Baboró is no different, so we do occasional fundraising events to bridge that gap.
On Saturday September 5th we’ll be in Galway’s Westside Shopping Centre, in Dunnes Stores, and on Saturday September 12th we’ll be in Dunnes Stores in the Eyre Square Centre, packing up groceries for customers, handing out info on Baboró and meeting people who want to know more about us …. so if you’re shopping there that day, be nice to us, help make Baboró your festival by supporting our packers. If you would like to give us a hand, by volunteering your bagpacking skills, or indeed getting involved in Baboró in a different way, then you could fill in a Volunteer Form.
Eyre Square Centre Charity Night
The Eyre Square Centre holds an annual fundraising event for a number of Galway charities and community organisations. This year, Baboró has been invited to become a beneficiary of this evening of fun, fashion and music so in November the shops and restaurants will hold a fun evening for guests.
Tickets for this event are only €10 and every penny goes to the participating organisations. We sell the tickets ourselves and get to keep the funds raised, so support us by buying a ticket ! Contact us for more information !
