SOLD OUT Strange Feathers

Told with humour and a light touch, Strange Feathers mixes contemporary dance, aerial dance and live music in an engaging performance for the very young.

About the Show

Two little chicks must find their wings for the very first time. Join these little birds as they learn to fly and negotiate the world around them, gently coaxed from their nest by beautiful music while the audience sits around their nest, immersed in the action. Told with humour and a light touch, Strange Feathers mixes contemporary dance, aerial dance and live music in an engaging performance for the very young. Unexpected and colourful wonders invite children to explore, interact and discover new things about their world.

The experience begins with a mask-making workshop and ends with an invitation to play with the performers on stage.

Seating: Cushions

Produced by Fidget Feet, Riverbank Arts Centre & Bird & Bat

Company Background

Fidget Feet is a pint-sized aerial circus company from Ireland. They tell their stories anywhere they can think of: in theatres, from cranes, hidden in forests, or swinging from buildings all over the world. Fidget Feet loves to find new ways of telling stories to new people. Since 2004, Fidget Feet has performed across five continents and to hundreds of thousands of people in some of the biggest festivals and venues across the globe. In addition to creating work, Fidget Feet is a strong advocate for the development of aerial work in Ireland.

Strange Feathers is a collaborative production with The Bird and Bat. Based in Iceland, The Bird and Bat specialises in making high quality dance performances for children. Their productions are created with both public and school audiences in mind.
