Programme policy

Baboró is a curated festival of multi-disciplinary work for children which takes place in Galway on the West Coast of Ireland in October every year. The festival programme includes theatre, puppetry, dance, music, visual art as well as creative engagement opportunities for children. Baboró is unique in Ireland as it is the only international performing arts festival dedicated to children. Baboró attracts audiences of approximately 17,000 people each year. These audiences are mainly school children and families but also include International and Irish delegates.

The festival programme also includes a Delegate Pack, industry events and professional development opportunities.

Information for Performing Companies and Artists:

There is no application process to be included in the festival. The festival programme of work is selected by Baboró’s Executive Artistic Director, having seen the work performed live. Each year Baboró attends a wide variety of International festivals in the UK, Europe and occasionally further afield.
