Fall and Float

Mónica Muñoz Dance

Ireland

Thu 19 Oct - Sun 22 Oct

With playful energy, impressive acrobatics, comic timing and a joyful soundscape, two dancers create a magical world through the clever manipulation of simple balloons.

Their imaginations seem to know no bounds - resulting in a hypnotic, funny and uplifting performance full of falling, lifting, throwing, catching, stumbling, floating … and sometimes maybe even a little bit of flying.

Fall and Float
was developed with the support of Baboró’s GROW Pathways to Production. Mónica Muñoz is supported by Meitheal: A Branar Initiative 2022-2023.

'A charming, playful, skilful show for young audiences, full of discovery, play and balloons.'

Mónica Muñoz is a choreographer based in Dublin. She is interested in making dance experiences for early years and young audiences with the body as its centre. Monica was The Ark’s John Coolahan Early Years Artist in Residence 2021/22 and is currently a participant of Meitheal: A Branar Initiative 2021-2023. This year she was appointed as a Creative Associate with the Arts Council's Creative Schools programme.

Relaxed Events are specifically for parents who may have concerns about bringing their children to the festival. We aim to provide a comfortable and relaxed space for children, and a stress-free environment for parents. Artists adapt their shows by altering the light and sound for example, and our Front of House Managers create a supportive atmosphere where audiences can move around or make noise.
