IPAY Watch Party at Baboró

Baboró invites you to join our IPAY watch party as part of Showcase in Place 2021. Irish artists Paul Curley and Chantal McCormack, Fidget Feet, have been selected to shine a spotlight on their work for young audiences as part of the Showcase.

How to Watch/Attend: To attend just the IPAY Watch Party please click here to register. Once registered, the Zoom link for the event will become accessible to you. If you would like to attend the full 'IPAY Showcase in Place' click here to visit the registration page. Please note that there is a registration fee for the full showcase.

Baboró is delighted to continue its partnership with International Performing Arts for Youth (IPAY), the largest annual showcase and marketplace for work for young audiences in North America. This collaboration with IPAY, Baboró and Theatre for Young Audiences Ireland led to a large Irish delegation attending IPAY in Philadelphia in January 2020, supported by Culture Ireland. Instead of the usual gathering of delegates from across the world in Philly in January 2021, IPAY has moved online.

You will have an opportunity to hear Paul Curley introduce his show The Dig, which was due to be part of the 2020 Baboró festival. Unfortunately under the Level 3 restrictions of the Irish government's 'Plan for living with Covid-19' all indoor events had to be cancelled. In addition, Chantal McCormack will give an insight into Strange Feathers which was very popular with early years audiences at Baboró in 2017.

Baboró's Executive Artistic Director, Aislinn Ó hEocha, will introduce you to the festival in the charming medieval city of Galway. You'll get to meet some of Ireland's most innovative artists, companies and festivals working in the sector.
