Kish Kush traces the journey of two characters as they progress from solitude to connectedness, facing the universal theme of cultural and linguistic differences. At the outset they are separated by a paper wall, with the audience sitting in the round, giving us two different perspectives as the the characters gradually discover and get to know each other through the manipulation of objects, shadow games, vocal sounds and several languages. Finally, the delicate wall is torn down and they become more accepting and trusting. Will the two characters find a way to communicate and navigate a shared space?

At turns humorous yet profound, challenging yet hopeful, Kish Kush is a charming show that offers a unique and eloquent portrayal of diversity.

A well considered vision of how people meet each other, how communication works and what obstacles are involved.

Kish Kush is a precious show, made up of small gestures that are always significant, silences and glances that have as much value as words.

Teatro Distinto came to life in 2003 from the artistic meeting of Daniel Gol and Laura Marchegiani.

Following several diverse creative experiences in Italy, the United States and France, the company began its journey with artistic workshops for adults, adolescents and children. From 2006, several plays intended for children and young people were brought to stage in many European countries, as well as in United States, Japan, China, Korea and Iran: Kish Kush, Compagni di Banco (Classmates), La Pecora Nera (The Black Sheep), Il Gioco del Lupo (The Wolf Game), Il Canto del Coccodrillo (The Crocodile Chant), La Rivincita (The Rematch), Il Labirinto (The Labyrinth). Besides its own plays, Teatro Distinto also works on the direction and creation of specific artistic projects for other resident theatres and for institutional subjects, national as well international.
