What ages do you cater for?
Baboró is for anyone aged 0 to 100; there really is something for all age groups. However, we generally cater for children aged 0 to 12 but we also have shows for all the family to enjoy such as Catching Waves. Also in the 2017 programme, are talks and practical workshops which cater for adults.

Can you describe the events in the festival?
The festival events include theatre, dance, music, exhibitions, workshops, visual art and literature.
Are there shows for babies and very young children?
Young children are very welcome at Baboró. The festival caters for early years (ages 0-6) as well as older children. Events which are suited to babies and very young children include Strange Feathers and Close (Cerca). See our programme and filter by age category to explore suitable shows.
Are there events for older children and adults to enjoy?
Absolutely- there are plenty! Events for older children include Wot? No Fish!!, The Peter Pan Experience (Expeditie Peter Pan), A Dangerous Crossing, Dave Rudden, We Come From Far, Far Away and more.
Adults are also suited to events such as Finding Your Inner Child, Children's Theatre and the Refugee Crisis, Visual Artist Talk: Maeve Clancy, Our Wonderful Senses Workshop, and Multi-Sensory Classroom for Teachers, SNAs and 3rd Level Students. What price are tickets?
Individual performance tickets are €9 and family tickets (4 persons) cost €30. There are group rates for 10+ of €7.50 per ticket. Tickets for school performances are €6.50 each (tickets for DEIS schools are €5.50). Some workshops and events are price individually and will be noted with the event information.
Are there any free events?
Yes, there are free exhibitions, storytelling and workshops to choose from. You can view the free events here.
I’ve booked a show. Is there anything else we can do before or after that?
Yes, there’s so much on offer. It's lovely to see families enjoying a jam-packed Baboró day. We encourage everyone to ‘Make a Day of it’ and here's how:

Do I have to accompany my child to the shows and workshops?
Unless your child is attending a dedicated schools event, adults are required to accompany children at shows and workshops. It’s all part of the Baboró experience to enjoy the festival together. All accompanying adults mush also have a ticket.
I am nervous about bringing my child to the theatre, what should I do?
Don't worry, we have dedicated Relaxed Performances which are specifically aimed at parents who may have concerns about bringing their child/ children to an event for a number of reasons. Baboró's Venue Mangers will cater for parents who may have any concerns relating to their child's theatre experience; providing a stress-free environment for both parent and child. This year there are suitable events such as The Peter Pan Experience (Expeditie Peter Pan) and Imagination Playground.
Are there any suitable shows for children with additional needs?
Yes, our Recommended Performances are recommended for designated special needs schools and groups. Click hereto see the variety of show this year included in the Recommended Programme.
Do I need to have a child with me to attend a Baboró show?
We’ll let you in on a little secret…grown ups absolutely love childrens’ shows! If you’re curious about a show, buy yourself a ticket and come along, with or without a child. You’ll be sure to get a warm Baboró welcome.
I’m a teacher. How do I arrange to bring my class to a show?
Children can attend shows as part of their school day together with their entire class. For advice and guidance on the best performance for your class/group check out our schools page on this site, call the dedicated Baboró schools line on 091 562 642 or email schools@baboro.ie.
