Wonderful memories from Small size Days 2019

On Friday 25th January, children aged 2 - 6 years old from Galway City and County took part in three Early Years Workshops as part of Small size Days 2019.

Led by Phillida Eves, Creative Sensory Educator, attendees participated in a workshop of multi-sensory activities inspired by a current exhibition at Galway City Museum which explores Galway Markets through historical photographs. Children felt the textures of the clothing worn by those at the market, smelt the seaweed, touched the turf and the willow baskets, and enjoyed creating a market experience together.

Now in its fifth year, Small size Days is celebrated annually in associated venues across the world with events dedicated to children of the 0-6 age group.

Baboró was thrilled to see how positively the children responded to the activities and how parents got involved, alongside their children.

"I have been to the museum many times and looked at that large photo. But today I saw so many details in the photo that I had never noticed before. Thank you for helping me to really see it and to share the experience with my child."

"We had a lovely time, very educational and fun. My daughter loved it."
