Made in Galway Showcase
12th-14th October 2026
As part of Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Baboró International Arts Festival for Children will present a special three-day Made in Galway showcase as part of our 30th edition (9th to 18th October), celebrating artistic excellence, cultural exchange and international collaboration in the arts for young audiences. This bespoke showcase will be an additional offering within our wider 2026 Delegate Programme.
Galway is home to some of Ireland’s leading artists and companies creating work for children and young people. Through this dedicated programme, Baboró will showcase the exceptional work being made in Galway and across Ireland, highlighting the strength of the sector and its contribution to Ireland’s cultural life at home and across Europe.
The Made in Galway showcase will welcome European presenters, programmers and cultural partners to Galway, creating opportunities to experience Irish work, build new connections and strengthen international networks. Invited delegates will attend public performances alongside a curated programme of showcases, presentations and networking events designed to foster dialogue, exchange and future collaboration between Irish and European artists and organisations.
The programme will include:
- Presentations of tourable Irish work for young audiences;
- A series of Meet the Artists presentations introducing delegates to leading Irish makers and companies;
- Networking events bringing together Irish and European artists, presenters and cultural professionals.
Alongside the Made in Galway showcase, delegates will be encouraged to engage with the wider festival programme and attend the Artist & Delegate Networking Evening.
By bringing together artists, presenters and cultural leaders from across Europe, the programme reflects the values at the heart of Ireland’s EU Presidency: cooperation, creativity, inclusion and meaningful cultural exchange. It also celebrates Baboró’s 30-year commitment to championing world-class arts experiences for children and young people, while supporting the development and international reach of Irish artists.
Participating artists include Galway-based makers and artists whose work has been developed through Galway-based artist development initiatives, including Baboró’s GROW programmes.
This programme will be open to invited 'Made in Galway' delegates through Culture Ireland support and will overlap with our general Delegate Programme. To participate you must purchase a Delegate Pass when they become available in September 2026. If you have questions, feel free to contact us at delegate@baboro.ie or call +353 91 562 667.
