On Demand Activities

This year Baboró is offering schools On Demand activities to be enjoyed at a time convenient for you. No booking is required for these events, and you are welcome to use or adapt them however suits your students. Each event has a pack of resources, like video tutorials, that guide participants through the activities. You will need one device, such as a computer or tablet, to access the resources. You may also wish to use a projector to present the videos to your class.

Our 2020 Festival Programme includes four On Demand Activities:

Bees, Biodiversity and Me
In this hands-on pre-recorded workshop, Lindsay Deely of Toodlelou Creativity Lab talks about the important role of bumblebees in nature. Learn to attract bees to your garden and even build a 'bee hotel'.

Rights of the Child Workshop
A workshop exploring creative self-expression through art.The Ombudsman for Children's Office has created an online workshop focusing on children’s rights and self-expression, with activity ideas for teachers to encourage children to actively participate and engage with the idea of children's rights, be it through art, writing or improvisation.

Colour My Life: Brighten Your Day
Video tutorials that help you make nature-based art, which can then be displayed in your schoolyard or at designated public parks across Galway City (see event page for specific locations).

She Crashes In And Fizzles Out
Immerse yourself in myth with a video tour of Jojo Hynes' visual art exhibition, filmed in the Galway Arts Centre. Accompany the video with a Teacher Resource pack, available on the events page, which provides activities for students to interact and engage with the artwork.
