Heartstopper as Gaeilge

Th 16 Oct - Fr 17 Oct

Féachfar ar aistriúchán Gaeilge Heartstopper sa cheardlann idirghníomhach seo agus beidh an deis ag na rannpháirtithe sleachta ón leabhar a aistriú le chéile. Pléifear ceird an aistriúcháin liteartha agus foghlaimeoidh na rannpháirtithe faoi na pointí is mó ar gá don aistritheoir bheith feasach orthu agus úrscéal grafach á aistriú ó Bhéarla go Gaeilge acu.

Students will work together with the Irish translator of Heartstopper, Eoin McEvoy, to translate panels of the graphic novel. They will explore the craft of literary translation, while reflecting on the most important points a translator must consider when translating a graphic novel from English to Irish.

Is aistritheoir, drámadóir, file agus gníomhaí pobail é Eoin Mc Evoy. Ba é Eoin a d’aistrigh an t-úrscéal grafach Heartstopper 1 go Gaeilge, aistriúchán a cuireadh ar ghearrliosta Ghradam de Bhaldraithe 2024. Foilsíodh a aistriúchán ar Heartstopper 2 i mbliana. Tá dánta dá chuid le léamh in Comhar, The Stinging Fly, Trumpet, Cyphers, Howl, Aneas, Feasta agus sa leabhar Green Carnations. Roghnaíodh é do scéim Poetry Ireland Introductions 2021. Oibríonn Eoin i Scoil na Gaeilge, an Léinn Cheiltigh agus an Bhéaloidis UCD, mar a mbíonn sé ag múineadh ar chúrsaí san aistriúchán agus sa scríbhneoireacht chruthaitheach, agus ag plé leis an teicneolaíocht oideachais.
