Franz Kafka’s experience of humanity was far from joyful. But one day, while consoling a tearful little girl in a Berlin park, he rediscovered a fragile but vital faith in the human spirit. What followed was an extraordinary act of imagination, told through a series of letters. And the rediscovery of a belief that love, play and friendship are what we need to be truly alive.
Brought to life by a versatile ensemble cast, Kafka’s Doll invites audiences of all ages on a captivating journey, offering Kafka’s final gift of hope in an uncertain world.

Muireann Ahern and Louis Lovett are Artistic Directors of the company and work closely with a family of associate artists who share their ambition, spirit and love of play. Their most recent production at Baboró, The Maestro & the Mosquita, had its premiere at Dublin Fringe Festival, where it received awards for Best Production and Best Overall Design.
Theatre Lovett have been running the well-established performance training course ‘Playing for your Audience’ for over a decade and also offer Teddy Talks, an ongoing series of advice clinics for artists and professionals focusing on theatre for all ages. They have several touring shows in rep.
