Kate Escolin is a Filipino Illustrator, Arts Facilitator, Comic Artist and Co-Founder of Beag Animations, based in Ireland. Her visual work consists of bright and playful imagery that embodies themes of optimism, inclusivity and tenderness. Her practice focuses on digital illustration, design, comics and animation. Along with her visual work, she teaches workshops with a focus on comic and zine making, for all ages around Ireland.
A large part of Kate's practice focuses on fostering community. She is the host of Sketchbook Club, a free monthly meetup that encourages analog art exploration and community building at Riverbank Arts Centre, Newbridge, and Richmond Barracks and Little Deer Comics, Dublin. She is a committee member of the Dublin Comic Arts Festival.
