Amélie Clonan
Amélie Clonan is a Luxembourgish theatre-maker currently residing in Ireland. A graduate from the University of Galway’s drama programme, Amélie’s transdisciplinary practice of puppetry, sound and playwrighting always keeps her hungry to learn more. She has worked in theatre aimed at young audiences as a member of ASSITEJ Luxembourg and Kopla Bunz (Luxembourg). In Ireland she interned at Macnas (Galway) and has attended a course in puppetry at the Lir Academy (Dublin). As a polyglot with strong international ties, Amélie is thrilled to experience Baboró this year and meet theatre-makers from all over the world!
Aoife Sweeney O’Connor
Aoife Sweeney O’Connor is a performer, writer and maker from Donegal. Their autobiographical theatre-cabaret An Evening with Wee Daniel premiered to a sold-out run at Dublin Fringe 2024, winning the Theatre Lovett ‘Playing for your Audience’ Award and earning a Little Gem nomination. It tours this summer.
Aoife produces and hosts the acclaimed queer cabaret EGG. Their hit show EGG: The Proclamation of the Irish Republegg won the Beyond the Pale Award at Dublin Fringe 2023. A trained actor, Aoife has appeared in Bicycle Thieves: Pumped Up, the Fleadh-winning animation To Break a Circle and Stacey Gregg’s Disco Dykes. They currently star in Síomha and the Otherworld, a new play by Em O’Ceallaigh exploring folklore and grief. They are a 2024 Dublin Fringe Artist in Residence, a Transforming Stages and X-Pollinator participant, and recipient of the Axis Assemble Bursary and Arts Council Agility Award. Their work has been supported by An Grianán Theatre, Outburst Queer Arts, Xnthony and Daniel O’Donnell himself.
Eimear Hussey
Eimear Hussey is a freelance theatre-maker, with a practice that spans playwriting, costume design and costume making for theatre and dance. A core strand of her practice is theatre for young audiences and youth theatre practice. Recent writing credits include Like We Were Born to Move - a Youth Theatre Ireland commission (Peacock Theatre, 2023), and Tales of the Inventor and the Pirate as part of Draíocht Blanchardstown’s NEST Project (Draíocht, 2024). Recent costume design credits include Fancy Dan (Temperance Hall, 2025), and THIS TOO SHALL PASS (Pearse Centre, 2024). She also currently works as the Literary Assistant for Fishamble.
Nessa Matthews
Nessa Matthews is a performer, writer and director. Since graduating from LAMDA, she has worked regularly on stage and screen. Her acting work can be seen on RTÉ, BBC, Netflix, Stan Australia, ZDF and theatres and companies across the UK and Ireland. She has written two plays for stage; Way Beyond the Blue (Theatre Upstairs) and award-winning INFINITY (in association with Corn Exchange, Dublin Fringe, First Fortnight, VAULT Festival). As a director, she most recently directed Foldable’s MADE FROM PAPER (in association with Mermaid Arts Centre, funded by the Arts Council, recipient of the DTF Futures Fund).
