"Creativity is something that is greatly improved when ideas are shared."
Highlights From the Year
The Panel's Visit to Baboró 2022
The panel visited the Widden Ar Geels exhibition at Galway Arts Centre, where Bry led them through creative responses to the artwork. Next, the group enjoyed a private showing of Family Portrait by Barrowland Ballet at the Mick Lally Theatre before heading to An Taibhdhearc for Graffiti Theatre’s The Sleep That Ceased to Settle.
After the performance, the panelists took part in a lively and informative Q&A with The Sleep that Ceased to Settle cast members Bob Kelly and Úna Ní Bhriain and Graffiti Theatre Artistic Director Niall Cleary.

Takeover on Flirt FM
In September, shortly before Baboró 2022, the panel took over the airwaves on Flirt FM, choosing their own music, discussion topics and everything about their show.

Birdie Re-Design and Strategic Plan
Early in 2023, the Children's Panel gave their feedback on Baboró's Strategic Plan 2023-2027, before it was launched in May 2023. The panel also created early sketches and a brief to inspire the redesign of Baboró's mascot, Birdie. Designer Sara Moloney's draft design were shared with the children, who chose the new Birdie, unveiled when the Strategic Plan was published.

"My child had a fantastic year on the panel, meeting new friends, discussing interesting topics, realising children can make an impact and have a voice and say on things that will concern her future!"
Rally for Our Rights
In February, the Children's Panel held a "Rally for Our Rights". The children created their own painted posters, songs, and protest chants inspired by The Ark's Right Here Right Now Festival in Dublin. The Baboró Children's Panel rally took place in Galway at the Blue Teapot Theatre.
