Online Exhibition

Jojo Hynes | From 2020 Festival

We are so happy to offer an online tour of Jojo Hynes's remarkable exhibition, She Crashes In and Fizzles Out. Join Joanna McGlynn as she speaks with Jojo about the process behind the work and walks you through the exhibition inspired by the stories of female water deities throughout the world, revered goddesses who crashed in and fizzled out of our collective memory like water lapping the shore.

Displayed alongside the work of Jojo is work by young artists who took part in online workshops facilitated by Jojo during Cruinniú na nÓg, Galway earlier this year. The children invented their own new myths about their locality and from these have manifested artworks surrounding these stories.

Young Artists: Annalysse Nally, Dearbhla Murphy, Gráinne Ní Bhroin, Leah O’Driscoll, Méabh Mahon, Millie Ross, Róise Hayes. Curated by: Rita McMahon & Maeve Mulrennan Art Technicians: Stephen Cunniffe and David Finn
