Why and how should we take children’s thinking seriously, especially when it comes to the deeper questions that matter to human life and living? The fundamental elements of flourishing, building friendships, learning and even boredom are central to many children's everyday lives. Their expertise in these fundamental human challenges is rich and deep. This talk prompts us to think about children as particular kinds of experts and why understanding them in this way can add depth to our dialogues with them.
The event will employ learnings from the children’s art engagement in the AND project (Art Needs Dialogue) in collaboration with Baboró, led by Dr Michela Dianetti, University of Galway. It will include contextualisation on Philosophy of Childhood delivered by Dr Lucy Elvis, Lecturer in Philosophy for Children (P4C) and Philosophy of Art, University of Galway.
