Town Hall Theatre Galway presents an extensive and eclectic mix of theatre, concerts, musicals, dance, film and comedy shows year-round. It incorporates a state-of-the-art 400-seater auditorium, and the venue attracts audiences in excess of 100,000 annually, making it the most successful theatre of its size in Ireland.

Accessibility

This main theatre is wheelchair accessible. Please note that the Studio is not wheelchair accessible. Events held in the Studio will be specified in the programme.

Getting Here

School Bus Drop Off

Buses can drop school groups off in front of the Town Hall Theatre, but please note that parking is not permitted here. Alternatively, buses can park at the Dyke Road Car Park and the children can walk along the footpath to the Town Hall Theatre. Please let us know if you are going to be dropped at the Dyke Rd so we can have stewards waiting for you there. Please also allow 5-10 minutes for the walk.

Public Parking

There is limited on-street paid parking around the Town Hall Theatre. There is a large Pay and Display car park at the Galway Cathedral at €5 per day and there is also Pay and Display (street parking) at the Black Box Theatre at €2 per hour. Chargeable hours are 08.30-18.30 Monday to Saturday and 13.00-18.30 Sunday. Both are a five minute walk to the Town Hall Theatre.

Public Bus

Galway city bus route 407 stops at Woodquay, which is a 2 minute walk to the Town Hall Theatre.

The Town Hall Theatre is located in the heart of Galway city and is a 5 minute walk from Eyre Square and a 12 minute walk from the Spanish Arch
